Planning Your Wedding? Get These Ticked Off First

People think of your wedding day as one of the most important days of your life. For many, planning a wedding is a big but important job. It can take a lot of planning and organization, so it’s easy to feel confused, stressed out, and worried that you haven’t done everything you should. You should remember that your day is yours and try not to feel pressured to please others or live up to their expectations. The most essential thing to remember is that your wedding day is unique and shows a lot about you and your partner.

Here are some of the most important things to think about when planning a wedding:

Send Out Save The Dates

Not everyone remembers to send out “save the dates” before sending invitations. However, if you send out “save the dates,” the people you want to spend your special day with will be able to plan and take the day off work. It also lets them plan their budgets for any travel they may need to book to attend, which is especially important if you plan to have your wedding somewhere other than where they live. You don’t have to send physical cards either. You can always send them digitally through email or social media. As long as you let the important people know, they’ll be waiting for your invitations with great anticipation.

Choose And Secure Your Venue

Your venue is one of the first things you look at. It often determines your date and theme, and it’s the one thing everyone needs to know. This makes it something to think about. When it comes to your wedding, you want to be able to tell your vendors and guests at the venue about any changes. Often, your venue will also have a list of recommended vendors, which can help you get a better deal.

Secure Your Photographer

This is the person who will take pictures of everything that happens on your big day, so you want to make sure you pick the right one. Your wedding photographer can get booked up very quickly, so finding one should be one of your priorities once you know where your wedding will be held.  Once you’ve picked a photographer, you’ll have a better idea of what will be captured that day, how you want your guests to dress, and how much money you’ll need.

The Dress

As soon as you’re engaged, you can go dress shopping. Finding the right dress can take a long time, so the sooner you find what you want, the better. Brides often try to lose weight before their wedding, so keep this in mind when shopping. Dresses can fit very differently after you lose weight, so if you plan to do this, talk to your dressmaker about alterations. You also want to have a good idea of how much alterations will cost, as this can be a hidden cost that you don’t need right before your wedding.

These are just the beginning of the things you need to plan, but if you start here, you’ll be on the right track. Do you think there should be something else at the top of the list? Please write them in the comments.
