Bio Oil Review & Giveaway

I’m not a very self conscious person, well not all the time, but things have since changed when I had to go into hospital and have a little operation to fit an Insertable Cardiac monitor in my chest,  It didn’t leave a massive scar but it did leave a scar big enough where everyone can see it, unless I wear high neck tops which I don’t want to have to do.

Every person is different and unique, and others feel more contious about scars than other but scars make you who you are today, what you have been through and that you have survived and come through it all fighting.

I have teamed up with Bio Oil to give 3 lucky readers a change to win one of these 60ml bottles of bio oil each worth around £5.99 each.

IMG_6586 IMG_6587

Bio oil smells quite nice it hasn’t got a strong smell but as it is oil it’s has got that oily texture to it so be careful when putting it on you don’t spill any as it may stain clothes.

Speedy Bin game – Review and Giveaway

We have always been a close family and love playing games, especially monopoly, we would even have “game nights” where we would dedicate an evening of a weekend and go round to my auntie’s house with my cousins or they would come to us and play games and have some quality family time, including the arguments over people trying to cheat.

When I was offered the chance to review this game I couldn’t wait for it to arrive and to get my nephew round to play it with me.

IMG_6515

The box contains:

  • The bin
  • Several sheets of different coloured Tissue Paper
  • Instructions

IMG_6516

IMG_6570

The game comes in 6 bits that are easily assembled by just clicking them together.

This game does require batteries 4 x AA batteries ( Not Included), and it is aged 4+ with 1 or more players.

IMG_6577IMG_6574

Me and my nephew had lots of fun playing with it for at least an hour, chasing it round the room and trying to dodge it from crashing in to him.  It has 2 settings 1 & 2, setting one is slow and setting 2 is fast.  My nephew Jack laughed & laughed the whole time whilst playing it, he loved it and he’s 8 years old.  The game ended in me and my nephew having a tissue paper fight, instead of throwing it in the bin.

It is a great game and will certainly keep the kids entertained.  The retail price for this game is £24.95 but you can find it for less in most toy stores like Smyths Toys, Argos, Ebay or Amazon.

I’m now going to give one lucky reader the chance to win this game.

To enter, please complete the Rafflecopter widget below. All terms and conditions can be found at the bottom of the page.

Bubble Bum Booster Seat Review

As most of my readers will know I am an Auntie to 4 nephews and their ages range from 1 years to 8 years old, I also have a god-daughter and godson who are 5 and 8 years old.

I was approached by the company to trial a booster seat, I have heard of this brand before so was excited to have the opportunity to review it.

IMG_6517

When it arrived I was shocked to see it was bright pink as I only have boys/nephews in my family but I do have a god-daughter, so to save the embarrassment of my nephews having to trial it out, I asked my best friend and her daughter to help me out.

The car seat comes in a little box, where it includes a fab idea of a little bag so you can easily store it away after use, it is easy to transport to families and to & from cars to cars, It’s light weight also.  IMG_6520

It is easily inflated by mouth by using the value at the back of the seat.  Just twist it open and inflate till full.

IMG_6519

Here it is in use by my little helper Jessica.

IMG_6580

Jessica’s thoughts about the seat, she said she really loved the seat, it was comfy, and it was her favourite colour.

It is easy to fit into any car in about 5 minute, just making sure that the seat belt is fitted through the red holders to secure it in place.  There are 2 on either side of the seat and one to put the seat belt through.

IMG_6582 IMG_6583 IMG_6584

This particular car seat is priced at £29.99 and can be brought directly from the company website here or alternative colours are available but prices may vary.

Then once you have finished with it you can just unscrew the cap deflate it and put it in the bag and put it in a cupboard or leave it in the car for when you will next need it.

IMG_6585

I think this is a fab idea and at a great price and easy to store away after use.

What the company says: BubbleBum, best seller and parents favorite, winner of more than 20 design and innovation awards including Mumsnet, Mother & Baby and Practical Parenting. The portable, lightweight, inflatable car booster seat for children aged between 4-11 easily deflates and packs away, making it perfect for holidays, rental cars, taxis, coach journeys, school trips or car pooling. – If you don’t believe it try it out for yourself.

I would highly recommend this product to all parents.

* I was sent this product free of charge for the purpose of a review, However all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Blogger Tiki Party – Island Bar Birmingham

When I received an email back in April inviting me along to another blog event in July I immediately replied with a big fat YES.  I have only been to 3 blog events in the 12 months I have been blogging including this one, so it is very exciting when I get invited to events.

I really didn’t know what to expect from this one

It was hosted by the lovely Kirsty Leanne from the start, with constant email updates to keep us posted with what is happening on the day.  It was been held at Island bar Birmingham, I have only been there once which was for a birthday night out but it was rammed, so was nice to see it in the day time.  The ceiling was decorated with lots of little lanterns.

IMG_6418

Me and my sister-in-law arrived together a little early and just had a look around as they were still setting up.  There was a little guest book while we waited to sign with a little message.  Once it was all set up Kirsty told us we could start walking round and mingling to see and talk to other bloggers and have a look at companies and products that were on offer.  Some of the companies I saw were:

  1. Pink Parcel
  2. Little bit lavish
  3. Love Aroma
  4. Toad diaries
  5. Early Bird Snacks

IMG_6421 IMG_6422 IMG_6423 IMG_6438 IMG_6440 IMG_6443 IMG_6444

The goody bag we received at the end of the day was huge, the biggest I have ever had, it was filled with all sorts of goodies from lots of different companies.

arIMG_6445

Near the end of the day they also held a raffle to win some more amazing prizes, I had a go but unfortunately didn’t win anything either this time.  The main thing was having fun and taking part.

It was a great day overall and was good to meet and speak to other bloggers.   Thank you to Kirsty Leanne for organising it all.  I would have loved to stay after the event but unfortunately wasn’t able to this time.

I attended this blog event free of charge and received the product as part of the event in return for honest reviews of all products, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Toad Diaries Review

When I attended the #BloggersTikiParty, there were lots of companies there that were sponsors for the event, one of which was Toad diaries.

IMG_6422

The ladies I met were very friendly and helpful and knew exactly how to help and explained everything to do with the ordering processes etc.

I haven’t heard of this company before but was very surprised and excited to be given the opportunity to make and choose my very own diary prior to the #BloggerTikiParty event.  You can design absolutely everything from scratch to make it your very own and personal diary.  When you want it to start, colour, scheme on the front, you can even put your own personalised wording on it aswell.  I love this idea.

The hardest decision was deciding what cover and style I wanted on it – there was so many different ones.  I looked and tried each one that stood out to me, and you could preview each one on screen.  I eventually decided on this one called “Stella & Dot” – Loved the wording on it which is why I chose it – my kinda motto in life too.

IMG_6498[1]

The next step after that was decided was how I wanted the inside done, week on one page, with blank page, week spread over 2 pages and many more options to think about.  I choose the one week over 2 pages as it gives you more room to write things down etc.

IMG_6499[1]

I had it start from January 2017 as I already have a diary for this year so thought next year should be a bigger and better year for everything – New year New start as the saying goes.  They don’t just do diaries they do notebooks & Journals which again you can personalise and choose everything from scratch.

The process was so simple from the start to finish and would defiantly recommend anyone to use this company for their personalised products.

Prices are very reasonable, starting from £8.95 but this may vary depending on what you choose on the website.  Delivery starts from £1.99 within the UK and may vary depending on parcel dimensions and parcel weight.

* Disclaimer – I was sent this diary free of charge for the purpose of a review, However all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Business Card Review – Colour Graphics

Quite a few weeks ago now I was approached by a Printing company called Colour Graphics who were interested in bloggers working with them to show off their printing and design skills.  They were giving bloggers the opportunities to either have 50 business card or 50 Leaflets printed as they wished.

I chose the business cards option.

IMG_6497

I placed the order through their website which was very quick, easy and simple from the start by just following the on screen instructions.  I ordered the cards Monday Morning and they were made and printed and delivery to me at my house by Wednesday.  Fantastic service from start to finish.  I created the design myself just something plain and simple.

The cards arrived by courier at my door and were packed in a little box for protection.  The quality of the cards, were ok, they weren’t top quality but were printed on thick cards and are my own simple design, but they are good enough for me.

I would defiantly use this company again and recommend others to aswell as the service and speed was excellent couldn’t fault it.

To find out more about the company and the services they provide, you can visit their website here or contact them by phone which is on the top of their website on the left hand side.

* Disclaimer – I received these business cards free of charge, however all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Twycross Zoo – Review & exclusive Girafffe Feeding Experience

Your never too old for a visit to a zoo – are you?

Well I have been given the opportunity to visit Twycross zoo, I have always loved animals and visiting any zoos, safari parks and rescue centres, I have worked in many rescue centres and I really do have a soft spot for all different types off creatures big and small.

Little Bit about Twycross

Twycross Zoo was founded in 1963 by pet shop owners Molly Badham and Natalie Evans, after the pair’s increasing zoological collection outgrew their three quarter acre site in Hints, Staffordshire.

Twycross Zoo is now renowned as a World Primate Centre and has a wide variety of monkeys and apes including the UK’s only group of bonobos. They have breeding groups of many endangered primate species so often have babies and toddlers playing around in the great ape groups, and in many of the monkey groups. they also hold a range of other species including Asian elephants, snow leopards, penguins, meerkats, tapir, hyena, and the world’s rarest big cat, the Amur leopard.

Set in more than 80-acres, they have around 500 animals of almost 150 species to see, including many endangered animals and native species in the Zoo’s Nature Reserve. You can walk with ring-tailed lemurs in their walk-through enclosure; see a troop of emperor tamarins leap above your head in their treetop exhibit, and watch the Humboldt penguins take their daily walk. Keepers present regular talks and feeds where you can learn a bit more about some of the animals such as the chimpanzees, Asian elephants and South American coatis.

Our Day at the zoo

On Sunday 12th June I was invited along with my Fiance, Mum, Dad and Nephew to have a day out at Twycross Zoo, which isn’t a million miles away.  We jumped in the car and it took us around 30 – 40 mins to get there.  unfortunately it was a wet, rainy miserable day but we weren’t going to let a little rain mess up our day.

We arrived at the zoo around 11am and were told we were due to meet and feed the giraffes at around 3pm, We had kept it a secret from my nephew as it was a surprise for him. We started off looking round at all the other animals, I have always loved zoo’s ever since I was a little girl. I don’t always agree with keeping wild animals in captivity – but that’s a different story.

We started off looking at all the different types of monkeys, Gibbons, orangutans, Bonobos, Lemurs, Howler, Spider and so many more.  Not all of them were out as it was a wet miserable day so they kept snug and warm inside you were able to see some of them in there inside enclosures.

DSCN0602 DSCN0639 DSCN0640 DSCN0642 DSCN0648 DSCN0649

We just worked our way slowly round looking at the map as we went along to find what we were going to see next.

We saw, Elephants, Zebras, Kangaroos,  Leopards, Otters, Meerkats, hyena’s and many more.

DSCN0611 DSCN0634 DSCN0636 DSCN0715 DSCN0718 DSCN0723 DSCN0724 DSCN0725

There is also a new attraction at Twycross called “Lorikeet Landing”.

DSCN0612

This is where you can buy nectar for £1 a pot and go into the walk through enclosure and feed and have the lorikeet birds land on you.  I love birds and would love one as a pet.  They are such beautiful creatures and so colourful.

DSCN0616 DSCN0617 DSCN0627 DSCN0630 DSCN0631

We then stopped for a quick hot drink break to warm ourselves up and to shelter from the rain for a little while.

We continued our way round the zoo and went into the walk in lemurs enclosure, unfortunately we were advised there was only 1 lemur out as all the rest had gone indoors to hide from the rain – Can’t blame them really.

Around 1pm we decided it was time for some lunch, we had brought a picnic with us, we headed back to my dads car and sat and ate it, my mum had made loads of food, sandwiches, crisps, sausage rolls, salad, fruit, drinks and cookies.

After lunch we took a walk over to the “Explorer Zone”

DSCN0667

I believe this section to be newish as I have never seen it before.  In here we found the butterfly enclosure with an array of beautifully coloured butterflies (apologies for the blurry pictures my camera got steamed up with the humidity).

DSCN0672 DSCN0671 DSCN0670 DSCN0669

After we had explored this section it was time for us to all head over to the giraffe house and await our meet with the zoo keeper to feed the giraffes.  Aren’t they just incredible animals.

DSCN0693 DSCN0694 DSCN0695 DSCN0696

We were given some health and safety rules before we were able to start trying to encourage them inside to feed.  The giraffes arrived in Twycross for just over 12 months, so are still fairly new, they are all males and came from 3 different zoos.  We all got the chance to feed them.  My nephew was very excited to be able to do this.

DSCN0700 DSCN0702 DSCN0704 DSCN0705 DSCN0706 DSCN0707 DSCN0708

unfortunately they didn’t play ball as well as we would have like but it was an amazing experience to get up so close and personal with these absolutely incredible creatures.  The boys all had names and were called Brad, Epesi and Setant.

You can find out more about what other animals you can get up close and personal with Here. These would make a lovely gift for someone special.

Even though the weather wasn’t on our side and we got merely a little soggy wet to say the least our day at Twycross zoo was amazing and the best bit was defiantly feeding the giraffes.

If you have never been to Twycross zoo head over there this summer.

* Disclaimer – I was given entry to the zoo free of charge for the purpose of a review, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. I paid £75 to be given the opportunity to feed the giraffes.

Foodies Festival Cannon Hill Park – Review

IMG_6030

On Saturday 4th June me and my mum in law headed out to Cannon Hill Park to visit the Food Festival, We met up with her daughter, boyfriend and their 3 boys.  We arrived around 10.30pm and the gates opened at 11am.  There was certainly a large crowd gathering, waiting to get into the festival.  The weather was slightly overcast when we arrived too but was warm.

When we finally got through the gates there were so many different companies and lots of freebies been handed out.

IMG_6037

IMG_6045

We tested lots of ciders and wines all before lunch time – Acceptable right?  There was also ravioli pasta, cheeses, fudges, honey, and so much more.  It was delicious.  I was getting full with just the freebies.

There was even a bus made into a bar.

IMG_6035

As we continued walking round, we found the Regge Regge Chicken Van that was hidden away in the corner, I’m not good with overly spices things I can just about cope with Nando’s “Medium” sauce. I didn’t know what to expect, but the samples they were giving out were delicious.  Little chicken drumsticks cooked in the sauce with spring onions in a little tray.  Was very yummy, but a little too spicy for me.  They were also making nachos, I prefered these.

IMG_6034 IMG_6036 IMG_6047.

There was so many different stalls, there was also a curry one, this was amazing the staff let us try a little bit of curry and it was amazing the meat just melted in your mouth, and the taste just exploded in your mouth.

It was a great day overall and would defiantly go again.

* I was given complimetary tickets for this event, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Little Party Parcels – Kids party bag fillers review

How hard is it every year to try and find things to fill kids party bags, that are unique and not cheap and tacky?

I know with my nephew when we have organised and planned his parties it has been so difficult to find things to fill up the party bags and even harder as he got older.

IMG_5990[1]

When https://littlepartyparcels.co.uk/ contacted me and asked if I wanted to review their party bag fillers I immediately said yes.  They do an incredible selection of lots of different items for all ages which is perfect if you’ve got young children/ babies in your family and you don’t want to leave them out.

There is something for everyone from this company, it’ll save you walking around the shops and there not been enough of one product in stock or over buying because there’s only a set amount in a pack and even better you can do it in the comfort of your home and it won’t break the bank.

The products are of good quality and will make great party bag fillers.  The fact you can make up your own party bag as well as ordering a pre – filled one is just perfect too.

For my nephew’s birthday we will certainly be using this company again and when I have a family of my own I will carry on using them and also I will spread the word to everyone I know with kids to start looking here for party bag goodies to save time and money.

For more information don’t forget to visit their website https://littlepartyparcels.co.uk/

The Baby Show NEC Birmingham Review

I was given the opportunity to go to the Baby show at the NEC Birmingham which ran from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th May.  I went last year as well with my sister in Law.

IMG_0047

I decided to take my friend with me and we headed out  to the show on the Saturday, we arrived around 10am and it was already starting to fill up.  When we first walked in you could see how many different brands had come from all over to be there for the weekend. Some of the larger well known brands that I saw were, and many more.

IMG_0033IMG_0014

IMG_5862 IMG_5869 IMG_5871 IMG_5872

IMG_6013 IMG_6015
