Toad Diaries Review

When I attended the #BloggersTikiParty, there were lots of companies there that were sponsors for the event, one of which was Toad diaries.

IMG_6422

The ladies I met were very friendly and helpful and knew exactly how to help and explained everything to do with the ordering processes etc.

I haven’t heard of this company before but was very surprised and excited to be given the opportunity to make and choose my very own diary prior to the #BloggerTikiParty event.  You can design absolutely everything from scratch to make it your very own and personal diary.  When you want it to start, colour, scheme on the front, you can even put your own personalised wording on it aswell.  I love this idea.

The hardest decision was deciding what cover and style I wanted on it – there was so many different ones.  I looked and tried each one that stood out to me, and you could preview each one on screen.  I eventually decided on this one called “Stella & Dot” – Loved the wording on it which is why I chose it – my kinda motto in life too.

IMG_6498[1]

The next step after that was decided was how I wanted the inside done, week on one page, with blank page, week spread over 2 pages and many more options to think about.  I choose the one week over 2 pages as it gives you more room to write things down etc.

IMG_6499[1]

I had it start from January 2017 as I already have a diary for this year so thought next year should be a bigger and better year for everything – New year New start as the saying goes.  They don’t just do diaries they do notebooks & Journals which again you can personalise and choose everything from scratch.

The process was so simple from the start to finish and would defiantly recommend anyone to use this company for their personalised products.

Prices are very reasonable, starting from £8.95 but this may vary depending on what you choose on the website.  Delivery starts from £1.99 within the UK and may vary depending on parcel dimensions and parcel weight.

Business Card Review – Colour Graphics

Quite a few weeks ago now I was approached by a Printing company called Colour Graphics who were interested in bloggers working with them to show off their printing and design skills.  They were giving bloggers the opportunities to either have 50 business card or 50 Leaflets printed as they wished.

I chose the business cards option.

IMG_6497

I placed the order through their website which was very quick, easy and simple from the start by just following the on screen instructions.  I ordered the cards Monday Morning and they were made and printed and delivery to me at my house by Wednesday.  Fantastic service from start to finish.  I created the design myself just something plain and simple.

The cards arrived by courier at my door and were packed in a little box for protection.  The quality of the cards, were ok, they weren’t top quality but were printed on thick cards and are my own simple design, but they are good enough for me.

I would defiantly use this company again and recommend others to aswell as the service and speed was excellent couldn’t fault it.

To find out more about the company and the services they provide, you can visit their website here or contact them by phone which is on the top of their website on the left hand side.

Twycross Zoo – Review & exclusive Girafffe Feeding Experience

Your never too old for a visit to a zoo – are you?

Well I have been given the opportunity to visit Twycross zoo, I have always loved animals and visiting any zoos, safari parks and rescue centres, I have worked in many rescue centres and I really do have a soft spot for all different types off creatures big and small.

Little Bit about Twycross

Twycross Zoo was founded in 1963 by pet shop owners Molly Badham and Natalie Evans, after the pair’s increasing zoological collection outgrew their three quarter acre site in Hints, Staffordshire.

Bonobo mother and infantTwycross Zoo is now renowned as a World Primate Centre and has a wide variety of monkeys and apes including the UK’s only group of bonobos. They have breeding groups of many endangered primate species so often have babies and toddlers playing around in the great ape groups, and in many of the monkey groups. they also hold a range of other species including Asian elephants, snow leopards, penguins, meerkats, tapir, hyena, and the world’s rarest big cat, the Amur leopard.

Set in more than 80-acres, they have around 500 animals of almost 150 species to see, including many endangered animals and native species in the Zoo’s Nature Reserve. You can walk with ring-tailed lemurs in their walk-through enclosure; see a troop of emperor tamarins leap above your head in their treetop exhibit, and watch the Humboldt penguins take their daily walk. Keepers present regular talks and feeds where you can learn a bit more about some of the animals such as the chimpanzees, Asian elephants and South American coatis.

Our Day at the zoo

On Sunday 12th June I was invited along with my Fiance, Mum, Dad and Nephew to have a day out at Twycross Zoo, which isn’t a million miles away.  We jumped in the car and it took us around 30 – 40 mins to get there.  unfortunately it was a wet, rainy miserable day but we weren’t going to let a little rain mess up our day.

We arrived at the zoo around 11am and were told we were due to meet and feed the giraffes at around 3pm, We had kept it a secret from my nephew as it was a surprise for him. We started off looking round at all the other animals, I have always loved zoo’s ever since I was a little girl. I don’t always agree with keeping wild animals in captivity – but that’s a different story.

We started off looking at all the different types of monkeys, Gibbons, orangutans, Bonobos, Lemurs, Howler, Spider and so many more.  Not all of them were out as it was a wet miserable day so they kept snug and warm inside you were able to see some of them in there inside enclosures.

DSCN0602 DSCN0639 DSCN0640 DSCN0642 DSCN0648 DSCN0649

We just worked our way slowly round looking at the map as we went along to find what we were going to see next.

We saw, Elephants, Zebras, Kangaroos,  Leopards, Otters, Meerkats, hyena’s and many more.

DSCN0611 DSCN0634 DSCN0636 DSCN0715 DSCN0718 DSCN0723 DSCN0724 DSCN0725

There is also a new attraction at Twycross called “Lorikeet Landing”.

DSCN0612

This is where you can buy nectar for £1 a pot and go into the walk through enclosure and feed and have the lorikeet birds land on you.  I love birds and would love one as a pet.  They are such beautiful creatures and so colourful.

DSCN0616 DSCN0617 DSCN0627 DSCN0630 DSCN0631

We then stopped for a quick hot drink break to warm ourselves up and to shelter from the rain for a little while.

We continued our way round the zoo and went into the walk in lemurs enclosure, unfortunately we were advised there was only 1 lemur out as all the rest had gone indoors to hide from the rain – Can’t blame them really.

Around 1pm we decided it was time for some lunch, we had brought a picnic with us, we headed back to my dads car and sat and ate it, my mum had made loads of food, sandwiches, crisps, sausage rolls, salad, fruit, drinks and cookies.

After lunch we took a walk over to the “Explorer Zone”

DSCN0667

I believe this section to be newish as I have never seen it before.  In here we found the butterfly enclosure with an array of beautifully coloured butterflies (apologies for the blurry pictures my camera got steamed up with the humidity).

DSCN0672 DSCN0671 DSCN0670 DSCN0669

After we had explored this section it was time for us to all head over to the giraffe house and await our meet with the zoo keeper to feed the giraffes.  Aren’t they just incredible animals.

DSCN0693 DSCN0694 DSCN0695 DSCN0696

We were given some health and safety rules before we were able to start trying to encourage them inside to feed.  The giraffes arrived in Twycross for just over 12 months, so are still fairly new, they are all males and came from 3 different zoos.  We all got the chance to feed them.  My nephew was very excited to be able to do this.

DSCN0700 DSCN0702 DSCN0704 DSCN0705 DSCN0706 DSCN0707 DSCN0708

unfortunately they didn’t play ball as well as we would have like but it was an amazing experience to get up so close and personal with these absolutely incredible creatures.  The boys all had names and were called Brad, Epesi and Setant.

You can find out more about what other animals you can get up close and personal with Here. These would make a lovely gift for someone special.

Even though the weather wasn’t on our side and we got merely a little soggy wet to say the least our day at Twycross zoo was amazing and the best bit was defiantly feeding the giraffes.

If you have never been to Twycross zoo head over there this summer.  Directions can be found here

* Disclaimer – I was given entry to the zoo free of charge for the purpose of a review, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. I paid £75 to be given the opportunity to feed the giraffes.

Foodies Festival Cannon Hill Park – Review

IMG_6030

On Saturday 4th June me and my mum in law headed out to Cannon Hill Park to visit the Food Festival, We met up with her daughter, boyfriend and their 3 boys.  We arrived around 10.30pm and the gates opened at 11am.  There was certainly a large crowd gathering, waiting to get into the festival.  The weather was slightly overcast when we arrived too but was warm.

When we finally got through the gates there were so many different companies and lots of freebies been handed out.

IMG_6037

IMG_6045

We tested lots of ciders and wines all before lunch time – Acceptable right?  There was also ravioli pasta, cheeses, fudges, honey, and so much more.  It was delicious.  I was getting full with just the freebies.

There was even a bus made into a bar.

IMG_6035

As we continued walking round, we found the Regge Regge Chicken Van that was hidden away in the corner, I’m not good with overly spices things I can just about cope with Nando’s “Medium” sauce. I didn’t know what to expect, but the samples they were giving out were delicious.  Little chicken drumsticks cooked in the sauce with spring onions in a little tray.  Was very yummy, but a little too spicy for me.  They were also making nachos, I prefered these.

IMG_6034 IMG_6036 IMG_6047.

There was so many different stalls, there was also a curry one, this was amazing the staff let us try a little bit of curry and it was amazing the meat just melted in your mouth, and the taste just exploded in your mouth.

It was a great day overall and would defiantly go again.

* I was given complimetary tickets for this event, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Little Party Parcels – Kids party bag fillers review

How hard is it every year to try and find things to fill kids party bags, that are unique and not cheap and tacky?

I know with my nephew when we have organised and planned his parties it has been so difficult to find things to fill up the party bags and even harder as he got older.

IMG_5990[1]

When https://littlepartyparcels.co.uk/ contacted me and asked if I wanted to review their party bag fillers I immediately said yes.  They do an incredible selection of lots of different items for all ages which is perfect if you’ve got young children/ babies in your family and you don’t want to leave them out.

There is something for everyone from this company, it’ll save you walking around the shops and there not been enough of one product in stock or over buying because there’s only a set amount in a pack and even better you can do it in the comfort of your home and it won’t break the bank.

The products are of good quality and will make great party bag fillers.  The fact you can make up your own party bag as well as ordering a pre – filled one is just perfect too.

For my nephew’s birthday we will certainly be using this company again and when I have a family of my own I will carry on using them and also I will spread the word to everyone I know with kids to start looking here for party bag goodies to save time and money.

For more information don’t forget to visit their website https://littlepartyparcels.co.uk/

The Baby Show NEC Birmingham Review

I was given the opportunity to go to the Baby show at the NEC Birmingham which ran from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th May.  I went last year as well with my sister in Law.

IMG_0047

I decided to take my friend with me and we headed out  to the show on the Saturday, we arrived around 10am and it was already starting to fill up.  When we first walked in you could see how many different brands had come from all over to be there for the weekend. Some of the larger well known brands that I saw were, and many more.

IMG_0033IMG_0014

IMG_5862 IMG_5869 IMG_5871 IMG_5872

Pizza & Cider at The Stables Birmingham

On Sunday 8th May I attended my 2nd blog event which was held in Birmingham at The Stables. It was a very hot summers day and what better way to have spent it than drinking cider and making pizza?  I had never heard of this place/company before so this was a first for me, they are fairly new to Birmingham.  I went along with my sister in Law Rachel and I do love cider so was really excited to go – who wouldn’t be with alcohol & Pizza?

When we first arrived we were the first bloggers there and were handed a glass of cider, it was lovely and refreshing.

IMG_5799

After a few minutes lots of other bloggers started turning up we all sat on benches and got talking to lots of different people, then the general manager introduced himself to us and the other members of staff.

IMG_5804

We started the afternoon off with a really interesting talk and taste session with Alan from Hogan’s Cider (Above photo). There were lots of opportunity to taste a variety of flavours that ranged from very strong Scrumpy types, to bottled fizzy varieties and lastly a cider brandy. The ciders had weird and wonderful names like ‘Hazy Daisy’ and ‘French Revelation’.  They also had different flavours, but unfortunately these weren’t to my taste.

IMG_5805IMG_5806IMG_5807

Then came more cider but this time a “Blind Tasting” session there were 5 on a rack and we had to guess what they were.  We couldn’t guess what they were but what we could tell you was that 2 out of the 5 were yummy, 1 and 5 were my favourite.

IMG_5812

This is what they were.

IMG_5816

After testing a lot of Cider on a pretty empty stomach, it was time to indulge in the other favourite of The Stable – Pizza.  Seeing as this was a bloggers event, there was an opportunity to get into the kitchen and make our own.

IMG_5817 IMG_5818 IMG_5819

The base and sauce was done so we then chose our own toppings.  The toppings I chose were Cheese (Lots of cheese), pepperoni, onions and more cheese, but goats cheese this time.  I am really fussy when it comes to pizza toppings so was really happy when I was able choose my own and put whatever I wanted on it.

IMG_5827 IMG_5828 IMG_5829

We were allowed to have a go at getting the base into the huge ovens (not as easy as it sounds or looks when the base is so thin).  I managed to do it though (Whoop).

IMG_5820 IMG_5821

After a pretty quick couple of minutes in a big hot pizza oven they were ready for tasting.  I’m not a big pizza fan (Unless i’m hungover) but my god these were amazing & delicious (Even if I do say so myself), thin crispy bases will a few of my favourite things on = one happy me.

IMG_5824

I would defiantly go back to The stables.

Cocktails & Razors

Well I attended my first ever blog event a few weeks back now and what better way to start than with making your own cocktails, I love a good cocktail.

When you think about cocktails and razors it’s obviously something that you wouldn’t usually put together. Well on the 9th April this combination worked, when a group of bloggers were invited to Bar Opus in Birmingham near snowhill train station for a cocktail masterclass to celebrate the successful launch of Friction Free Shaving.

I love cocktails an often try and make them at home but was excited to have a go at making some with the pros. I love Cosmopolitan’s or a little Sex on the Beach, but it never taste a spot on what you get in bars when I make them.

I have to admit I have not heard of them up until this event so was interested to find out more about Friction Free Shaving. After hearing the background It’s pretty damn amazing idea. Basically, it is a subscription box that specialises in women’s shaving products. Each month you are sent new blades for your razor – you get the razor in your first box. I tend to shave every time I have a shower even if it’s not necessary.   How handy would it be to have some sent out every month, Save the hassle of forgetting to pick replacement blades up on your shopping.  I’ve tried so many different types of razors and nothing compares to Friction Free Shaving now as they are decent ones, with moisturisers and stuff built in. This subscription box costs between £3 and £7 a month, which I think is really good value for money, and the razors well they are Gorgeous!!

IMG_5795[1]

How pretty is that?

IMG_5793[1]

It is rose gold and It even had my name engraved on it, this service will be rolled out soon by Friction Free Shaving. This razor is called ‘Samantha’, and is £7 a month. I couldn’t wait to try it out… It certainly a cut above the rest.

And then onto the cocktail making.Amazing!!

The first one we made was called ‘Samantha’ – named after the above razor. This was made with gin, limoncello and lemonade it was rather refreshing and went down far too easily, like pop.

IMG_5563

The second one we had a go at making was called a ‘Faye’, which is the name of the £3 a month razor.  It was made with cold milk, honey Jim Beam, vanilla syrup and crushed honeycomb – I didn’t like this one very much but was ok.

IMG_5571

The Third and finally was the ‘Frankie’ , named after the £5 a month razor. This was the hardest one because it was created to stay in layers…It was difficult, but still tasted pretty damn good  – It was made with rose syrup, blackcurrant gin and prosecco.

IMG_5576

I had a great time making the cocktails and finding out more about Friction Free Shaving and meeting lots of new bloggers.
