Cheeky Wipes | Review

We have spent a lot of money on baby products over the years of having Freddie and I love nothing more than trying to save a few pennies here and there on products and not to mention helping and protecting the environment.

This is where Cheeky wipes arrived and came to the rescue.

This box contained 25 Rainbow microfibre wipes, 1 bottle of essential oil and bags to put clean and mucky wipes in before and after use.

They are great for meal times and for taking out and about with you in the handy bags that come with them.

Head over to the Cheeky wipes Website to order yours today.  You can choose your bundle but for this one I was sent for review it is priced at £29.95.

FourFit Fitness Tracker | Review

I’m not a fitness freak at all, but I have been trying my hardest to get fitter by eating healthy and walking more, I used to walk to and from the train station every day even on my last day at work before I broke up for maternity leave, pretty good going I thought for myself.

When I was offered a Fourfit smart Bracelet I said yes as wanted to be able to monitor my movement again and hit some target I would set myself.

I have now worn it for a couple of weeks and love it, it’s got lots of features.

  • Heart Rate
  • Sleep tracking
  • Vibration Smart Alarm
  • Sedentary Reminder (reminds you to do activity if you have been sedentary for a while)
  • Calorie counter
  • Step tracking
  • Phone link enabled.
  • SMS, Facebook, Whats app, Email, Call alerts
  • New OLED larger screen
  • Bluetooth
  • Rapid charge
  • 5 day battery time
  • 5 colour choices

Extras are:

Works Independently:
No need to be always connected to Bluetooth – no need to drag your phone into the gym. Unlike other brands the FourFit Band will transfer all workout data once reconnected to the phone!

Rapid recharge:
Charge your battery up to 60% in 15 minutes

I think the only little negative about the the fourfit tracker I feel is the battery life doesn’t last long and only lasts about 2 days which if you go away could be inconvenient.

Priced at just £39.00 I think it is excellent value for money, looks good, slimline and light weight you don’t even know your wearing it.

Little Life Toddler Backpack with Rein | Review

Freddie is walking now on his own, refuses to be carried and sometimes fights when we put him in his pushchair or car seat because he wants to walk everywhere. This is where Little Life Toddler Backpack and Reins is becoming very useful! Freddie has got his Independence and can walk but we have also got control of him so he can’t run off and get into trouble.

They are much cuter, much more fun and much more practical than traditional reins.  The backpack is a perfect size for us to put some toys in for him to carry or nappy’s and wipes to save taking his large changing bag.

A little about the product

  • Zipped top entry to main compartment
  • Internal name and address label
  • Adjustable shoulder straps with chest strap
  • 1.5 litre main compartment
  • Top grab handle
  • Built-in Safety Rein with attachment point
  • Supplied with the Parents Safety Rein

The straps are easily adjustable and there is a front harness to stop it slipping off his shoulders. I thought he would fight having this done up, but it really doesn’t seem to bother him.

The rein can just be put in the little pouch at the back, so if they want to run free they can. It’s a good length to give them a little bit of freedom – when I want him a bit closer to me, I just wrap the strap around my wrist a little more. There’s also a useful ‘tug handle’, which is useful if you don’t want to use the reins. It also clips together at the front so they can’t wriggle free easy.

Our backpack costs £14.99, includes free delivery and can be purchased from Littlelife.  Whilst this sounds quite expensive, when you see the quality of it and how useful it is for going out and about, it really is worth every penny!

Cooking Meals with Mash Direct | Review

We use potato products with most of our evening meals whether it be chips or potatoes themselves.

Mash direct made it easier for prepping meals when your home from a long day at work with there ready prepared packs that you just cook in the oven.

About Mash Direct

Mash Direct is an independent company started by Martin and Tracy Hamilton at their family-run farm in Comber, in 2004; however, the family’s journey started long before that.

The Hamilton began farming the fields around Strangford Lough back in the 1800s and the land has been passed down through six generations, bringing with it a wealth of understanding and knowledge of the area and growing conditions

Due to the declining vegetable market in the UK, mixed with the poor prices farmers received for their crops, Mash Direct was born out of necessity as a way to keep the family farm afloat. One night, after discussing with a close friend over a glass of Irish whiskey, Martin dreamt up a business of providing traditional Ulster Champ that was both convenient and healthy. Since then, the business has continued to boom year on year and the farm truly is a family affair with Martin, Tracy and both of their sons, Lance and Jack all helping Mash Direct on its journey to become a national, household name.

Using their six-generations of farming expertise, Mash Direct has grown from 70 to 1,400 acres of fields that are tailored to growing traditional, heritage vegetables. These are then cooked to perfection using specially designed steam cookers on the farm for that delicious taste and texture of homemade food. Suitable for microwave or oven heating the Mash Direct range is available to retail, food service and food manufacturing throughout the UK, Ireland, Middle East and beyond.

A meal I cooked

We had sausages for lunch with broccoli and cheese sauce with the potato croquettes and it was yummy, just the right amount for both of us and our little boy to share.  I know it doesn’t look very appetizing but we both enjoyed it.

I forgot to take photos of some of the meals I have made and we have put some of the products in the freezer as it was getting close to the best before date.

The meals I have made with these product have been lovely full of flavour and made tea time less stressful.  I would be sure to look out for these products in the supermarkets or place an order online.

You could use their products in meals you probably wouldn’t even think of, see recipes for examples.

PoundToy Toys for £1 | Review

I had never heard of PoundToy before, but my sister  in law had worked with them and I was keen to get involved so was excited when they agreed to work with me.

There’s a huge selection to choose from,  not all at £1 but they have a large selection of goodies to choose from for all ages so you’ll be sure to find something you need.

I was given £50 to spend online, I picked gifts that I could give for Christmas or Birthday to family members.

There was plenty of branded and character related items such as playdoh and Graphix kits to choose, and the other non-branded stuff was perfect too. I went for a variety of things for Christmas and stocking fillers for my nephew and little boy plus stock items.

I struggled to work out what I wanted as there was so much to choose from, and with having nephews that are ages 4 – 11 and a little boy who’s 14 months so some was either too young or too old.

The website was really easy to navigate and the use of categories and filters made it easier to narrow down the search. I liked being able to go to the most popular department and then filtering by price from low to high. This worked well and helped me find the most toys for my money.

I would recommend using Pound Toys if you are looking for stocking fillers or presents for kid party’s, great value for money.

United Odd Sock | Review

I’m not bothered about socks but my husband is a pain for socks and has real OCD, so this was going to trigger it off badly.

We were sent a real selection of socks for the whole family.

It arrived presented in a lovely white box wrapped in red tissue paper, presentation means alot.

I really love that they sent us a selection for the whole family, I think my favourites are the “Let the evening be gin” pair.

How cute are these dinasaur ones for Freddie.

The quality feels good and so far they have washed well.

Smol Washing capsule | Review

We I do all the washing in our house, (tom doesn’t even know how to switch it on let alone use it) and I lose track of how many loads I wash a week, there is never an easy way of saving money with washing powders and detergents as there are so many out there for us to choose from.

What if there was an easy way of purchasing washing products without lugging heavy boxes off the shelves and into the car and back out the other end?

How about a deliver to your door service?

Here’s how it works

Basically every customer get the free trial, the £1 is a contribution to P&P the product (9 capsules in a cute mini pack) is free.
After 7 days we send you an email to remind you that your plan will start in a few days. On the 10th day your first regular pack is dispatched – this costs £3.85 and you get 24 capsules.
Each capsule is 16p which works out at up to 50% less than the capsule brands in the supermarket.
After your first pack you will get regular deliveries depending on how you answered the question, so if you put your washing machine on 6 times a week you will get a pack every 4 weeks ( 28 days) but if you put your machine on 3 times a week your pack will come every 8 weeks (56 days).

Does that make sense?

They come in a handy little box which is secured with clips to prevent little hands getting into them.

All you do is just pop one capsule in each wash, nothing else required, leaves your clothes smelling fresh.

*Always keep washing detergents out of reach of children.

A Healthier Choice for Pets from Scrumbles

Over the years it has really been drummed into us from TV adverts,  shows, doctors to have a healthier lifestyle, eat the right things, eat the right amount and make sure we get our five a day fruit and veg.

I have studied alot into animals care and nurtrients and there are so many different types of food for our pets it is hard to know which one to choose. Our dog Carly is currently fed on Earls from Aldi and she loves it, it contains meaty chunks and vegetables and provides her with all the energy and nutrients she needs.

Scrumbles recently got in touch to introduce us to their new range of ethical pet food and it got me thinking about what we feed Carly, the amount we feed her and whether she actually gets all the nutrients she needs.

Scrumbles is a completely natural pet food with no nasties in it – they contain all the essential amino acids and are packed with a blend of fresh and dried chicken but without added sugar or salt and they are lentil, pea and potato free too. All of the recipes contain good digestible grains, brown rice and oats which give a nutritious source of dietary fibre to maintain intestinal health and it means they are gluten free too. Plus, Scrumbles have a whole range of pet food for cats, kittens, puppies and dogs.

I would of took a picture of Carly enjoying it but she loves her food so much its gone within minutes.

A 2KG bag of dog food costs £11.49.  I would like to see this food in more flavours too.

Carly really likes her new food from Scrumbles and I’m sure she would agree if she could speak herself!  The empty bowl says it all really.

Smyths Hape Pound and Tap Bench | Review

Freddie loves nothing more than to make as much noise as possible.

What I love about this product is you can take the xylophone out so they can play with it separately.  It’s not to big so doesn’t take up much floor space and is wooden so can’t be destroyed easily.  The bright colours so you can thelp each them colours which will help with their development.

Safety 1st Timba highchair | Review

Our little boy is growing up way to quickly and can crawl, pull himself up and very nearly walk by himself.  He loves his food too.  We had to get 3 highchairs and that’s not cheap so when I was offered one from safety 1st I jumped at the opportunity.

My husband put it together the evening we received it but it wasn’t easy at all, it all came flat packed with instructions but they were pretty useless.  It was a 2 person job as you couldn’t slide any pieces into the frame you had to build it from one side to the other whilst trying to hold it all together

Once we finally fixed it all together, the next day we put Freddie in it, he seemed to like it but when there’s food around he will happily sit anywhere.

Unfortunately, the downside for us with this highchair is you can’t fold it away in a cupboard, once it is put together you have to dismantle it to put it away, luckily our kitchen is big enough to be able to leave it up.  Another thing I would change would be the straps as Freddie can easily turn around in it and has already nearly climbed out of it once as he has managed to wriggle his legs out of the straps, therefore I feel the safety of this highchair is not up to standard.

It easy to wipe over but if food is left or missed it is hard to get it off and have to use brute force.

I can’t say I would purchase this highchair in the future because of some of the points above.
