Hatton Locks, New Clothes & Sun #LittleLoves

Well Hello again FRIDAY!  It has been another mad week, but it was topped off with a lovely sunny walk round Hatton Locks with the In Laws and there 2 dogs on Sunday.  The weather has been lovely but now it has started turning wet again.

This week Little Loves consists of:

Not much this week at all, think I read a couple of pages on my kindle book before I fell asleep while reading it in bed.

Nothing this week, just don’t seem to have had time to watch anything.

Not yet, but brought myself a couple ok maybe 4 pairs of new shoes, nothing special, a new top and a pair of leggings on my lunch from work.

I was asked by a colleague at work if I could make a birthday card for her to send to the US to family member.  She wanted something pretty with lots of colour and sparkly, she had a look through my Facebook page and decided on the iris folded cake one. I used satin ribbon to give it a different effect.

Nothing out the ordinary this week.

And Finally…

No extra news I’m afraid this week.

Hope you have all had a great week.littleloves2

dome8 – Headphones Case Review & Giveaway

dome8 is the new “IPhone Case that Holds Headphones”

I don’t know about you but I am forever loosing my headphones or getting them twisted, caught and knotted in the bottom of my handbag, around my purse, my house keys or whatever rubbish I have in my bag.  Then it is a case of emptying the contents of my bag out to find them.

When I was offered to trial a new phone case with a headphone section inbuilt from dome8 I said yes straight away.

I had a choice to pick from of 5 different colours

Blue Ocean & Black, Black night & Black, Black night & White, Black night & Fluoro Green and Watermelon Pink & White. These can be seen here.

I choose the Watermelon Pink & White case.

I was really excited when the case finally arrived in the post, I couldn’t wait to open it and try it out on my phone.

When it arrived for some reason I was expecting it to be a flexi case, so when I got it out the box I was surprised to find it was a hardback plastic case.

IMG_5030[1] IMG_5031[1]

The case was fantastic, sturdy, rigid and would certainly protect your phone if dropped.  The grip was great and your phone wouldn’t be slipping and sliding out your hands when in use, as some cases can have that shiny look to them making them slippery to hold.

I use my headphones pretty much every day so would be lost without them whether it’s to listen to music on the way home from work or make a call while working to keep my hands free.

This case is perfect, especially if you tend to drop your  phone alot.  Priced at £14.95 plus free UK delivery.  I think it is a very reasonable price for a phone case of that spec and is of a very good quality.

Now I am offering one lucky reader to have the chance of winning one of these cases for themselves in whatever colour they like.  They’re available in different sizes and colours. The whole range can be found here.

What’s in your… Make up Bag?

For many years now I have been wearing make up, I have never been one of these people who absolutely plaster make up on and spend a fortune on it either.

There are so many different brands of make out there now: Rimmel, No 7, Max factor, maybelline, Garnier and many many more.

IMG_5338 IMG_5339

This is my make up bag, my fiance brought me this for my birthday…Isn’t it cute.

I buy all my make up from boots but on the very rare occasion I can’t get anything from there I will go to superdrug.

My make up bag contains the following:

Eye roller – Garnier is a fab brand.  I think I actually brought this from sainsburys quite a while ago, and even though I use it every day it seems to last forever.  It’s great for covering my bags/circles under my eyes.

Powder – You can buy this from here. I but the natural colour as I have an olive skin so don’t want to look to pale.

Ok, maybe 4 mascara’s is a little many but they are amazing, they make your lashes so full and amazing.  They can be found and brought here at £6.99 I don’t think it is expensive for a decent mascara. The black one was actually a freebie through the post.

These are amazing little balls of joy.  They have tiny bits of glitter in them as well to give you that extra glow.  You can buy them from here at boots.  Priced at £9.95 they are maybe a little expensive but are amazing and last a long time.

Lip and Eye liner

Tweezers, brushes, hair grips, eye lash curlers and nail files.

and finally….

Lip gloss – I don’t wear lipstick but love lip gloss, but these are the only 2 I own.  I don’t wear them every day usually just when I go out.

So….What’s in your make up bag.

Take me out, Wedding Day and New Top #LittleLoves

HAPPY FRIDAY is all I can say…  It has been one crazy week for me from start to finish.

This week Little Loves consists of:

The paperwork from our registry office for our Big Day.  What we have to do next, where we have to go, what we need to bring with us etc… so excited

The final series of Take me out, as much as it irritate me I am hooked on it.  I have watched every episode since it came on.  What will my Saturday nights consist of now.  Also it was the last episode of suits.  *Sobs* I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.  I am so in love with Mike and Harvey (Sorry not sorry)

My new top,It’s orange which is a unusal colour for me to buy but loved the style and colour.  I popped into peacocks the other weekend and as it was mothers day on the sunday thought I would wear it to show it off and my new boots that I brought a few weeks ago from New Look.

For the first time in my life I cooked meatballs, I always thought I never liked them but the fiance wanted them for tea and I couldn’t be fussed to do 2 different meals.

That an away day has/will be being organised for June with my work place.  It is a yearly thing that is organised.  This year we are going to do 4×4 off-road driving and I can’t wait.

And Finally…

So as I said last week I would reveal some very, very exciting news…Well….Me and my fiance have finally booked our Wedding for July 2017…I couldn’t be more excited and happy after been engaged for 3 years.

Hope you have all had a great week.littleloves2

My Happiness Non-Negotiable List

Well I have been tagged by the lovely Rachel at Parenthood highs and lows to write up my Non- Negotiable list of happiness.

Each person has different things that create their happiness and they won’t negotiate on and no one is ever right or wrong as each person as an individual will be different.  Even the very definition of it is ambiguous, with The Oxford Dictionary defining it as ‘the state of feeling or showing pleasure’.

Well here are mine:

My Blog

I started up my blog 8 months again after having a discussion with my sister-in-law about promoting my handmade card and it went from there.  I’m now writing about lots of different things in life and absolutely love every minute of it.  If I ever just want to get away from things I will hide myself in my blog and write about things….New post coming soon “Planning a wedding”.

My Pets

This is probably an odd non – negotiable happiness topic but I love my pets.  The way they make me feel if I feel down, I can go out to the garden and give them fuss & cuddle and talk to them, they will just instantly cheer me up with their cute little fluffy faces and jumping or Binking around their cages in happiness.

IMG_1609 IMG_4585 IMG_2308

My Cards

I have been making handmade cards and stationery for many years now and it’s another thing that I absolutely love doing.  I can go and hide away in the spare room and put some music on and lose myself in creating and designing new card ideas. You can find all the cards I have made here on my KimzKardz but here’s one I made earlier.

I have always loved music, and how a good track can always, without fail uplift my mood, if I have had a bad day in general or at work. Most evenings when I get in from work I will plug my phone into the Ipod dock in the kitchen and listen to Spotify while cooking dinner and have a little dance to myself.

So there you have it – my ‘non-negotiables’ for happiness list.  I now tag the gorgeous Sally at These Junebug Days to join in and share hers.

The Auntie Life

This is the behind the scene reason as to why I decided to change my blog name from ‘KimzKardz’ to ‘Life of an Auntie’…. because I adore my nephews so much and they bring me so much fun and laughter each and every time I see them.

I first became an Auntie back in 2008, I was just 21 when my sister had a little boy who she named Jack. I was so excited when I first found out I was going to be an Auntie. Jack was finally born on the 21st March in the early hours of the morning at Solihull Hospital after my sister had been in slow labour most of the day but she didn’t realise.  Me, my mum and my dad all went to visit the next day and meet the little fella.  Meet Jack Joseph Hayes.

This is Jack a few hours old

They only had to stay in hospital for a couple of days then both mum and baby were allow home. At the time Jack was born my sister was still living at home with us. It was lovely to have my nephew home and be able to watch him grow, interact with him, dress him, bottle feed him and put him to bed.

Watching him grow over the years has been amazing watching him learn to walk, talk and play, go to nursery for the first time and growing up into a young boy and hearing him say Auntie Kim for the very first time.

Just a few photos above of Jack with me (Bottom left), My mum (second down from top on right), My dad (Bottom Right), My Grandma (Top Left) & My Grandpa (second from bottom on left).

He was always a happy little boy, laughing and smiling as he grew up, I remember the first day it was his turn to go to nursery, the first steps he took, when he started reception and year 1 & year 2 and now he is nearly 8 years old and turning into proper young man.  He brings so much joy to all our family.

In 2011 my sister in Law Rachel found out she was expecting her first baby and the excitement started all over again.  On June 11th I became an Auntie again to Harrison James, he was born at Heartlands hospital.

harry snug as a bug

Watching Harrison grow up and develop into the young boy he is today is lovely, Harrison will be 5 this year and I don’t know where the time has gone, he’s started school and really enjoying it too.

When Jack first met Harrison

This is one of my favourite pictures of Harrison and me, he had just got out the bath.

The boys get on so well together and playing together.

Just over 12 months later Rachel found out that she was expecting again in October 2012, a little brother for Harrison it was going to be and another nephew for me.  Alexander Thomas arrived into the world on the 29th October 2012.

Snug as a bug

Harrison was a fab big brother to Alex.

Big bro love Harry & alex 2

They get on together so well.  Harrison showing Alex how things are done etc…

Then a couple of years later Rachel announced that she was expecting her third baby.  Benjamin Rhys arrived on 28th November 2014.

Ben has recently started walking and he is getting his hands on everything.  Love seeing photos of my nephews that my sister-in-law puts on Facebook.

Three gorgeous boys/brother and nephews for me.  They are all growing up so quickly.  Jack will be 8 years old this coming March, Harrison 5 in June, Alex 4 in October and Ben 2 in November.

Have you got any nieces or nephews and how many?

Fresh Meat, Wedding Brochures & Homemade Lasagna #LittleLoves

Well Hello there March… Where did you come from so quickly?  This week has been crazy at work as it’s the beginning of the month, so I have to get lots of different reports out to all partners and managers in my team.

This week Little Loves consists of:

Lots of wedding brochures and trying to decide where and when we would like to get married.

The new series of Fresh Meat… It’s a comedy about uni kids/adults.  Me and my fiance were excited when we heard this was back on Channel 4 but unfortuantly its not around to stay for long as it is for the last time.

Fresh Meat Series 4: (Zawe Ashton as Vod, Greg McHugh as Howard, Kimberley Nixon as Josie, Charlotte Ritchie as Oregon, Joe Thomas as Kingsley, Jack Whitehall as J.P.)

Waterproof and warm shoes & clothing again because in the space of a week we have had every season possible in Birmingham, Rain, Snow/Sleet, Sun and Wind.  Roll on Summer if we possible ever have one.  I was not born to be cold all the time.

A new design in my wedding stationery collection.  All designs can be found on my Facebook page KimzKardz

Homemade lasagna aswell.  I love cooking but this week we have got friends over from spain for the week to stay so cooking for 4 people instead of 2.

That we had smashed our Billing target at work by a lot, this was a massive achievement for my team as it is something that can be very challenging.

And Finally…

Some BIG exciting news will all be revealed next week hopefully.

Hope you have all had a great week.littleloves2

New shoes, Kindle and To Do Lists #LittleLoves

Well that’s it the last Friday of February…Where has this month gone? Seemed to havr blinked and it’s just vanished.

This week Little Loves are:

My kindle in bed while the OH was out with his brother on a night out.  So calming and relaxing a whole double bed to myself too.

Watched…not much.  Just the usual every day soaps such as Emmerdale and Coronation Street.

I had to buy some new shoes for work, so I’ve been wearing these…nothing special, just some flat black plimsole.

I have a “To do List” of the things that need doing round the house, I know we have only been in the house just over 12 months but its the little things that are bugging me the most e.g. no door handles on any door in the house.

The scary (not mentioning expensive) news from the dentist that I need a filling, I hate the dentist at the best of times.

And Finally…

Looking at more wedding venues.  There are so many to choose from and so much to take into with organising and planning a wedding.  But I am so EXCITED!!  To get better and write better #LittleLoves posts on a weekley basis and take more photos.  Next week I’ve got friends coming over from Spain to stay with us for a week too.

Hope you have all had a great week?!

Cinema’s, Pancakes and Ugg Boots #LittleLoves

Well this week has been another crazy week and we are nearly at the end of February…. How and where has this month gone already I seemed to have blinked and it’s gone.

This week Little Loves are:

Lots of emails at work, lots of requests for work.

Me and my Fiance went out to watch the new “Dirty Grandpa” Film at the new cinema at Resorts World Birmingham.  It was brilliant, really funny, it is rated 15 as it has scenes of sexual nature and swearing.

My amazing warm ugg boots, they are so comfy and in this freezing, wet weather have kept my feet super toasty.  I have been wearing them to work too as my office has been cold too.

PANCAKES – A little late but we had pancakes on Shrove Tuesday.  They were delicious, I have my plain and simple with just lemon and sugar.

That one of my best friends had finally given birth to her 3rd baby and it was a boy, weighing 8lb 1oz.  He was 2 weeks early and I cant wait to go and meet him and have cuddles.

And Finally…

Looking at more wedding venues.  There are so many to choose from and so much to take into with organising and planning a wedding.  But I am so EXCITED!!

I do hope you have all had a great week?!

E- Cloth Product Review

With Spring fast approaching and a house to keep clean and a dog that moults and treads muddy paw prints through the house I wasn’t going to turn down the offer to review some house cleaning products from E-Cloth.

I received the products a few weeks later after been contacted.  The products came well packaged as well to prevent damaged as it was a large delicate item.

The products I was sent for review were:

Aqua Spray Deep Clean Mop RRP – £24.99

IMG_5202 IMG_5203

As sad as it sounds I couldn’t wait to try the mop out because  with having a dog there is constant muddy paw prints all over the floor so I am always mopping up.  This Aqua Spray mop is brilliant, light weight and extremely easy to you, you just detach the water bottle and fill with just water, then just press the handle and it will spray the water out onto the floor.  If you wish you can spray a cleaner onto the floor first, then spray the water and away you go.  The mop head has long fibres and a special weave that enable it to break up and hold grease, dirt and over 99% of bacteria, using just water.  Another great thing about this product is the cloth is removable and can be washed easily.

Aqua Spray Mop video

The next product I was sent was:

All Purpose Cleaner RRP-£9.99

IMG_5197 IMG_5198

As in every kitchen you get water marks, food splashes and dull stainless steel, well look no further than this all-purpose cleaner it works on stainless steel, kitchen sinks, ovens, pots & pans, garden furniture, trainers, boats, caravans and much more.  It comes with an e-cloth and a little scourer too and you can just dampen it dip it in the cleaner and it will remove tough and stubborn stains easily.

The last product I was sent to try was:

Kitchen Whizz RRP-£2.99

This is a great little cloth for the kitchen aswell.  It has long microfibre’s so is easy to collect and clean all those stubborn hard to remove stains,It Is ideal for a quick ‘whizz’ around the kitchen. Just wet the whizz under the tap, wring out and clean worktops, hobs and around the sink. All using just the power of water.  You will notice if you look closely at the cloth there are dark green scrubbing stripes these are made from a more abrasive material to remove stubborn dirt and residue easily.

Since owning a house I am always looking for more ways and easy ways to keep on top of the constant cleaning of the house.

I rate all these products 10/10 they are brilliant and would defiantly recommend them.

*I was sent these product free of charge, all opinions are my own.
