Meal Planning Monday 29/01/2017

Well that’s it, we are on the last week of January, How is this possible?

This week is going to be a crazy one for us as we are having our bathroom completed ripped out and refurbished and rearranged as we don’t like the lay out, you can read about it here and then I will try and post during and once it is completed.

I feel this week I will most defiantely need meals that are quick and easy to prepare or ones I can use out the freezer.

I am going with

Chicken enchilades

Sauage casserole

Lemon & garlic salmon with vegetables

Cheese burger lettuce wraps

Lemon butter Chicken with mash potato

Tuna pasta bake

Full Roast Dinner with all the trimmings

Our Current Bathroom

One room in our home that we’ve never fully updated is the bathroom. We gave it a coat of white paint and added a few accessories but apart from that it has never really changed at all.

The time has now come though to update the bathroom fully and so during the next few weeks we are having a complete bathroom renovation – something that neither my partner or I have ever lived through before not mentioning with a baby! We have planned it all, have found someone to put it all together for us and now we just can’t wait to get it finished.

As you can see it’s pretty grim no matter how much we clean it never looks nice so will be glad of a new one. The lighting is terrible in it aswell so it always looks so dark.  We also decided to have a new window fitted seeing as we are having the rest done.

Lastly, we’ll be having fully tiled walls and easy to clean flooring. I am hoping this will not only make the bathroom a bit more water tight but will also making cleaning easier and should just make for a better experience overall.

I’m aiming to do a post during the work if I can get good enough photos but if not I’ll update you when the work’s finished.

Wish us luck!

This Winter, Let there be light | Litecraft Review

With the nights drawing in and the weather going from one extreme to the other every day, I love nothing more than to stay inside my house curled up watching rubbish on tv under a blanket.

When Litecraft got in contact it couldn’t of been at a more perfect time as our current lamp in the lounge had started given up the go and stopped working.

This particular lamp RRP’s at £39 and can be found here with a large selection of others to suit all your home decor needs.

It is neutral yet classy and would fit perfectly into any space.  We never put the big lights on as it gives out a perfect amount of light without it been to bright.

If I was looking for lights/lamps for our house again, I would be sure to look here first as they are good value for money.

* I was sent this product free of charge for the purpose of this review.  However all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Degustabox | December 2017

Well this is the last Degustabox of 2017, what a fantastic 5 months it has been taking delivery of these so far, roll on 2018.

I would definitely recommend these subscription box to anyone that is looking to try different foods they are a great “Try before you buy” option.

Well, on to what was in our box this month.

Ryvita Lightly Salted Rye Cakes £1.39

We had some of these in last months box and they were so nice, so was excited to try these ones too.  I wasn’t disappointed.

Popchips Galactic Puffs £1.99

I snacked on these one night while watching TV and I loved them, I’m not keen on many flavours of crisps but give me sour Cream & Onion any day.  Will be making sure these are brought on my weekly shopping trip.

Taking the pea £1.50

I can’t say I was excited about the sound of these and unfortunately the taste and flavour wasn’t much better.

Life Macha Green Tea

This was a bonus item in the box, unfortunately neither me or hubby like green tea but I’m trying really hard to like it so will keep trying it.

Planters 2 x £1.29

Again sadly I’m really not a lover of nuts but I gifted these to my parents as they love nuts and will be perfect for Christmas for any visitors that pop in.

Candy Kittens Gourmet Sweets £3.00

Well, sadly these didn’t last at all very long I devoured them very quickly as they were very yummy.  I offered them to hubby but he turned them down – more for me though.

Willies Cacao Black Pearls £6.59

I haven’t heard of these before so was looking forward to seeing what they were like, again I wasn’t disappointed at all.  They were quite rich as they were dark chocolate, but nice.

Sleep Well £1.75

This is another product I have never heard of and looking forward to try, I took it  and certainly felt ike I slept better whether that was a coincidence I don’t know.

Mary Berry’s Food £2.99

Sadly this was not for us, we are not a fan of products like this and feel it is also on the expensive side.  Sorry Mary Berry.

Robinson’s Fruit Creations £1.99

We only ever used to buy Robinson’s squash but it was quite expensive so we switched, So when we were sent a bottle of their new fruit creations it was something different to try too I was really impressed by it.

San Miguel 0.0% £3.00

I don’t like Lager, but the hubby does.  I liked the fact it is alcohol free but I do feel it is a little on the expensive side.

Coldpress £1.50

I love orange juice, and can guarantee there is always a carton in the cupboards, so when I was sent this I was excited to try it to see how it tasted compared to the ones I buy from Aldi.  I would buy this again but only if it was on offer as feel it is a little expensive.

Like the look of the Degustabox December 2017 box? You can buy yours now. Your order will come with free shipping. You will then receive a surprise box containing 10 to 15 items. A lot of the items within the Degustabox are new to the market. It is a great chance to try something new for a discounted price too. I love the variety in the Degustabox December 2017 box. The RRP of the goods in this box was around £28 – which I think makes this good value!

Bakersday Cake | Review & Giveaway

Hope you you all had a fantastic Christmas & New Year?

Right how about we kick the new year off with a Bakerdays cake review & Giveaway?  I know we are all probably sick of seeing and eating but who can refuse cake?

Cake is one of my weaknesses so when I was offered a cake from bakerdays to review I happily obliged. I was able to choose my own personal design to go on the cake or you can pick from their pre design options.

It came presented in a lovely little metal tin, with a note and a christmas cracker which I felt was the ultimate little touch.

The processing of the cake was so easy, choose your design, the flavour of sponge you want and then it gets delivered straight through your letter box hassle free.  The cake was delicious, fluffy and light and didn’t last very long. With some cake you can find that it is very sickly sweet but this wasn’t, the icing was perfectly gooey.

If you would love to be in with a chance of winning a cake for yourself or as a gift for a friend or family member then enter using the rafflecopter link below.  You have until the 29th January 2018 to enter.  GOOD LUCK!
