Keeping babies socks on with Twiddle Ons | Review

Our little boy Freddie is just over 5 months old now and is forever loosing his socks so when we had a delivery of “Twiddle Ons” from Sock Ons I couldn’t wait to try them out on him.

We received 1 set of Twiddle ons with fishes on, they are made up of lots of sensory parts so baby can feel and hear different sounds when wearing them.

Freddie loving them and they kept him happy and mesmerized for ages.  I feel these are a must have for babies for their development.

The great thing about these is they are all “One size” so will fit all little feet.   They would make a great little gift too.

These RRP at £8.99 which I feel is reasonable.

  • I was sent this product free of charge for the purpose of this review.  However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Pan Fried Pork with homemade sweet potato fries

Tuna Pasta Bake

Hunter Chicken Lasanga Parcels

Pitta Pizza’s and chips

Quiche, Rice & Salad

Full Roast Dinner with all the trimmings

Whats on your Dinner plate this week?

Christmas Gifts For Men & Women | 2017

I love shopping for Christmas presents and try to start after the mad rush of birthdays in October.  For me, gift giving at this time of year is all about the little things that you know someone will love rather than the big, expensive gifts. Each year it gets harder to think of gifts for the family especially the men.

For the Women

We’re starting off with this lovely Nivea Gift set priced at £5.00.  The box contains:
Express Care Hand Cream 75ml, Express Hydration Body Lotion 250ml & Hydro Care Caring Lip Balm 4.8g.

Initial Mug RRP £14.50

A lovely gift idea for family and friends, or anyone with a love of coffee and tea. Our high quality bone china personalised mugs can be printed with a name or message of your choosing. We have a wide range of unique and novel designs to create a personalised gift for any occasion, from weddings to birthdays. They also make great Christmas stocking fillers.

The Christmas Snowflake | Review

I love books, love reading them and I’m now making sure my little boy has the same by reading him stories and building him a collection up just like I had when I was a little girl.

Today I’m very excited to share something both beautiful and Christmassy with you – a wonderful, heart-warming and stunningly illustrated book The Christmas Snowflake by Wonderbly.

Wonderbly make the most beautiful, personalised books for children and we’ve been lucky enough to review one, So when wonderbly asked if we’d like to receive a copy of their new release for Christmmas, The Christmas Snowflake, I was only too happy to accept the offer.

We were able to personalise the book with a little note from ourself to our little boy Freddie for him to keep which I thought was lovely and is a perfect keepsake gift for anyone.

The Christmas Snowflake story centres around a snowflake, who is looking for a place to call home this Christmas – but only you and your loved ones can help her.  This is such a lovely, festive tale story.  The illustrations are absolutely stunning and you can add up to nine family members, which I think is great for thosee who are blessed with larger families – no one gets left out.

I decided to stick to just the three of us.  As an added extra surprise, the final page of the book contains a sweet little pull-out keepsake Snowflake ornament – perfect for hanging proudly on your Christmas tree.

The book prices start at £19.99, it is printed on luxurious, premium quality paper and available in hardback.

I would be sure to buy books from Wonderbly as presents for friends and family.

Boozy Brandy Truffle

Every year, without fail I would help my mum make her christmas special treat that everyone in the family goes mad for, It’s my mums famous Brandy Truffles, they are definitely not for kids.

My sister in Law Rachel from Coffee, Cake, Kids wrote about them a while ago but I thought I would share it again with you all.  They are super easy to make and don’t require any baking.

All you need to make these are:

150g Bournville or other good quality dark chocolate
40ml brandy or rum
50g unsalted butter
60g icing sugar, sieved
50g ground almonds
Approx 16 small paper cases

Break up all of the chocolate into a bowl and put this over a pan of hot water or place in microwave (becareful not to burn it). Add the alcohol and the butter and mix until melted completely.  Finally mix in the sieved icing sugar and ground almonds until well blended.

20131223-201218.jpgJust leave the mixture in a cool place until it is firm enough to handle. Divide into approx even sized pieces and roll into balls. You can either grate any left over chocolate or use chocolate sprinkles, place on greaseproof paper and roll the truffles in it. And finally put into the little cake cases.

These are gorgeous. A little tub of them would make a fab gift for a teacher or family member – if you could resist eating them first!!
